TikTok Live Glossary
Plain-language definitions for the TikTok Live ecosystem — the currency, the battle formats, and the people who make it run. Every term links out to the place in Streampace where it actually shows up.
Currency
Coins, diamonds, gifts — how money flows through TikTok Live.
Diamond
TikTok's credit unit for gift recipients. The creator's diamond count for any gift equals the coin count the sender spent.
Coin
The viewer-side currency for TikTok Live gifts. Bought directly from TikTok at roughly $0.0104 USD per coin.
Live gift
An animated visual a viewer sends to a creator during TikTok Live, paid in coins. The creator earns one diamond per coin spent.
Battles
Battle, mic-up, multi-way, FFA — the competitive formats and how they pay.
Battle
A timed head-to-head match between two TikTok Live streams, with the winner determined by which side's viewers send more diamonds in gifts.
Mic battle
A non-monetized battle format where two streamers share mic time, no diamond stakes — often used as a warm-up or as a strategic alternative to a scored battle.
Multi-way battle
A battle with more than two participants — covers 2v2, 1v2, 1v3, 3v1 and other team or asymmetric formats.
Free-for-all (FFA)
A multi-streamer battle format with three or more participants and no teams — every streamer competes individually for the highest gift total.
People
Gifters and top creators — the audiences and operators in the ecosystem.
