How the math works

TikTok Live has three exchange rates between viewer dollars and creator earnings. They compose into one chain: viewer USD → coins → diamonds → creator USD.

  1. Step 1 — Viewer buys coins

1 coin = $0.0104 USD. The 1,000-coin bundle costs $10.40 USD when purchased through TikTok. iOS in-app purchases sometimes add an Apple-tax markup; the published USD rate is the canonical reference.

  2. Step 2 — Viewer sends a gift, creator earns diamonds

1 coin spent = 1 diamond received. Every TikTok Live gift is priced in coins, and the creator’s diamond count for that gift equals the coin price. A 1,000-coin Universe gift puts 1,000 diamonds on the creator’s balance.

  3. Step 3 — Creator-side face value

1 diamond ≈ $0.005 USD. This is the pre-split, pre-cut face value of one diamond — what the diamond is “worth” to the creator before any agency split, withdrawal fee, or downstream TikTok cut. Apply your own split to estimate take-home.

Worked example

A gifter sends a 30,000-coin gift on a stream:

  • Viewer paid: 30,000 × $0.0104 = $312.00
  • Creator received: 30,000 ◆
  • Creator USD value: 30,000 × $0.005 = $150.00

Frequently asked

How much is 1,000 TikTok coins in USD?

A 1,000-coin bundle costs $10.40 USD when bought directly from TikTok. If those 1,000 coins are spent on a gift, the creator receives 1,000 diamonds, with a creator-side face value of about $5.00 USD before any agency split or TikTok cut.

Are coins and diamonds the same thing?

Coins are what viewers buy from TikTok and spend on gifts. Diamonds are what creators receive when their gifts are sent. Each gift is priced in coins, and the diamond_count the creator earns equals the coin count the sender spent — a 1:1 conversion.

Why do creators get less in USD than the viewer paid?

Viewers pay TikTok approximately $0.0104 per coin (the published bundle price). The creator-side value is approximately $0.005 per diamond — roughly half. The difference is TikTok’s platform fee. Whatever happens between the diamond balance and the creator’s bank (additional cuts, agency splits, withdrawal fees) sits downstream of these numbers.

Do these rates change?

TikTok’s coin bundle price varies slightly by region and platform (iOS in-app purchases sometimes carry an Apple-tax markup). $0.0104 per coin is the canonical USD-region rate; $0.005 per diamond is the long-running creator-side face value. We update this page when TikTok publishes new rates.

Does this account for the agency split?

No. Agency splits are bespoke and confidential — they vary per agency and per creator. This calculator surfaces the pre-split, pre-cut diamond face value. Apply your actual split to the creator-side number to estimate take-home.

How does Streampace use this math?

Streampace tracks every gift on every TikTok Live you run, with raw diamond totals as the primary figure and USD as a secondary clarifier. The calculator on this page is the same conversion the product uses internally.

Track every gift on every stream

The calculator shows what one gift is worth. Streampace shows what every gift is worth — per gifter, per stream, per battle, per hour of the day.
